Private Information Policy

IcarusTel takes protecting the privacy of our customer’s private information very seriously. Customer service, sales representatives or other employee groups having regular and repeated access to customer’s personal information are required to keep this information confidential. For this reason the company has implemented this customer private information policy.


Employees may not, at any time, record and store customer private information at their workstation, nor can they remove private information from their workstation or office location. Customer private information includes: names, addresses, phone numbers, PIN numbers, calling patterns and any other information delivered by the customer to the company. Employees are forbidden from sharing any customer private information without the express permission of their manager or supervisor.


IcarusTel will collect and use the above information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider are appropriate in the circumstances.


Icarustel is not disclosing any personal information with a third party without customer’s express consent.


Icarustel may, without the knowledge or consent of the individual, use personal information only if:
(a) in the course of its activities, Icarustel becomes aware of information that it has reasonable grounds to believe could be useful in the investigation of a contravention of the laws of Canada, a province or a foreign jurisdiction that has been, is being or is about to be committed, and the information is used for the purpose of investigating that contravention;
(b) it is used for the purpose of acting in respect of an emergency that threatens the life, health security of an individual;
(c) for the purpose of collecting a debt owed by the individual to Icarustel;
(d) required to comply with a subpoena or warrant issued or an order made by a court, person or body with jurisdiction to compel the production of information, or to comply with rules of court relating to the production of records;
(e) made to a government institution or part of a government institution that has made a request for the information, identified its lawful authority to obtain the information and indicated that
  • (i) it suspects that the information relates to national security, the defence Canada or the conduct of international affairs,
  • (ii) the disclosure is requested for the purpose of enforcing any law of a province or a foreign jurisdiction, carrying out an investigation relating to the enforcement of any such law or gathering intelligence for the purpose of enforcing any such law, or
  • (iii) the disclosure is requested for the purpose of administering any law Canada or a province

No credit card information will be written anywhere other than the order form. At the end of the shift, all credit card info will be handed to supervisor and will be shredded.


Any violation of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Employees will be subject to immediate termination if at any time it is discovered that they have inappropriately recorded, stored, shared or removed customer personal information regardless of the means by which it is obtained.
